【Abstract】 With the improvement of the quality of people's life and changes of lifestyle，the incidence of hyperuricemia increases gradually. The relationship between hyperuricemia and hypertension，diabetes，chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular diseases has become more and more profound. As studies go on，more evidence confirms that hyperuricemia may be an independent risk factor for these chronic diseases. Besides，studies about whether urate-lowering therapy can reduce the risk of these chronic diseases are under way. We summarized some recent studies on the associations of hyperuricemia and the treatment of it with chronic disease，in order to raise the clinical attention to uric acid levels，at the same time provide a basis for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.

【Abstract】 Diabetes mellitus（DM） is a public health problem that threatens the health of all mankind.It not only affects the health of patients with a shortened life，but also increases the economic burden on individuals and countries.Over the past 30 years，the prevalence of diabetes in China has increased rapidly while patients tend to be younger.At present，more than 90% of diabetic patients suffered from type 2 diabetes.Relevant studies have shown that meal replacement diet can effectively improve the blood glucose and blood lipid level of overweight or obese patients with type 2 diabetes，and reduce patients' body mass and waistline.Meanwhile，meal replacement diet is conducive to the HbA1c and improves patient compliance and satisfaction，which achieves the intervention and treatment of DM in many ways.But the mechanism of meal replacement diet in treatment of type 2 diabetes is not yet entirely clear，and there are relatively few studies at home and abroad on this aspect.Therefore this paper summarizes the current studies to review the progress of this kind of study.

【Abstract】 Health literacy represents the cognitive and social skills which determine the motivation and ability of individuals to access，understand and use information，in order to promote and maintain good health.More and more researchers have paid attention to health literacy in recent years.Although the researches about it involve in a variety of chronic diseases，there are only a few studies focusing on health literacy in patients with rheumatic diseases at home and abroad.We did a literature review of the studies in which recent developments in health literacy of patients with rheumatic diseases were reported，including the assessment tools for health literacy，current situation and associated factors for health literacy，the relationship between health literacy and health outcomes，the readability and applicability of health education materials，and the interventions for health literacy，with a view to providing some references for the development of similar studies and exploration of research directions in future in China.

【Abstract】 Objective To detect the serum retinol binding protein 4（RBP4） and cystatin C（Cys-C） levels in patients with diabetic retinopathy（DR），and examine their correlations with the development of DR.Methods A total of 150 outpatients and inpatients with type 2 diabetes mellitus（T2DM） that were admitted to the Department of Endocrinology and Department of Ophthalmology，the People's Hospital of Haian County Affiliated to Nantong University between January 2015 and June 2016 were enrolled and grouped. Fifty diabetic patients without DR were assigned to the non-DM（NDM） group，50 diabetic patients with nonproliferative DR（NPDR） were assigned to the NPDR group，50 diabetic patients with proliferative DR（PDR） were assigned to the PDR group，and 50 normal healthy individuals served as controls. The serum levels of fasting blood glucose（FPG），triglycerides（TG），total cholesterol（TC），low-density lipoprotein cholesterol（LDL-C），high-density lipoprotein cholesterol（HDL-C），2-hour postprandial blood glucose（2 hPG），glycosylated hemoglobin（HbA1c），RBP4，and Cys-C were measured.Results There were significant differences in serum FPG，TG，TC，LDL-C，HDL-C，2 hPG，HbA1c，RBP4，and Cys-C levels among the four groups（P<0.05）. Higher levels of FPG，TG，TC，2 hPG，HbA1c，RBP4，and Cys-C，and a lower HDL-C concentrationwere detectedin the NPDR group than in the NDM group；in addition，the serum levels of FPG，TC，2 hPG，HbA1c，RBP4 and Cys-C were higher in the PDR group than in the NPDR group（P<0.05）.Multivariate Logistic regression analyses revealed that the course of the disease〔OR=3.128，95%CI（1.458，7.641）〕，HbA1c 〔OR=6.933，95%CI（1.604，29.962）〕，RBP4〔OR=2.746，95%CI（1.043，7.230）〕，and Cys-C〔OR=3.062，95%CI（1.098，9.389）〕 were risk factors for developing DR（P<0.05）.Conclusion Elevated serum RBP4 and Cys-C levels are strongly associated with the development of DR.

【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the levels of serum fibroblast growth factor 21（FGF21） in obese or overweight patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus（T2DM），and to explore its correlation with body mass index（BMI） and HOMA-insulin resistance index（HOMA-IR）. Methods Patients of 213 cases with T2DM who were hospitalized in the Department of Endocrinology，the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from January 2014 to July 2016 were selected and subsequently divided into a T2DM obesity and overweight group
