The 3rd International Academic Summit on General Practice and Community Health Service a.k.a. Celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the journal Chinese General Practice held by the Chinese General Practice Press in Beijing, April 2009. Attending officials from the Ministry of Health, P.R. China include vice-ministers Qian Liu and Ronggui Cao, as well as leading staff members Changming Li, Wannian Liang etc. Prof. Shane Thomas from the Monash University, president of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Editor-in-Chief of the Australian Family Physician, distinguished experts including Prof. John Murtagh, along with American family physicians have also attended the event and participated in the general practice trainers' workshop, to promot academic exchange and help foster teaching faculty.

         The First China-Australia (Shenzhen) General Practice Academic Forum - Chinese General Practice Trainer Workshop held by the Chinese General Practice Press in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, P.R. China, May 2011. Director Shenguo Jin, leading official of the Ministry of Health, P.R. China has attended the Forum and the workshop. Australian experts led by Prof. John Murtagh, distinguished general practitioner have participated in the China-Australia academic exchange and interactions of general practice trainers.

         The Second China-Australia (Zhengzhou) General Practice Academic Forum - Chinese General Practice Trainer Workshop held by the Chinese General Practice Press in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, P.R. China, June 2011. Director Bin Wang, leading official of the Ministry of Health, P.R. China has attended the Forum and the workshop. Australian experts Prof. Russell, president of the School of Primary Health Care, Monash University, and Prof. Blashki from the University of Melbourne have participated in the academic exchange and interactions of general practice trainers.




         The Beijing Forum for Directors of Community Health Service Centers held by the General Practice Press in Beijing, P.R. China, October 2012. Dr. Peter Burgos and other American family physicians have introduced general practice skills to Chinese counterparts.


         The International General Practice and Family Physician Service Mode Development Forum held in Jinan, Shandong Province, P.R. China, July 2012. The event is hosted by the Chinese General Practice Press. Around 400 general practitioners from community primary health care institutions all over China have participated in the symposium that aims to explore and carry forward the efforts to establish the service system for Chinese family physicians.

         Attending experts include: Director Huaijin Qin, the Department of Women and Children's Health Care & Community Health Service, Ministry of Health, P.R. China; Director BingyuQiu, the Health Department of Shangdong Province; Director JunfengXu of the Department of Primary Health Care, Beijing Municipal Health Bureau; Prof. Hengli Lin, Chief Executive Officer of the Taichung Family Physician Practice Center; Prof. Kenny Kung, the Chinese University of Hong Kong etc.




         The 1st PKUHSC International Forum on General Practice &The 2nd GP's Elite Faculty Training held in Beijing, P.R. China, October 2013. The event is hosted by the Chinese General Practice Press. Experts from the University of Birmingham have been invited to give lectures on general practice teaching methods and training techniques. Fifty trainers have attended the Elite Faculty Training. A total of 300 experts and representatives have attended the Forum.


         The Third China-Australia (Hangzhou) General Practice Academic Forum - Chinese General Practice Trainer Workshop held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, P.R. China, November 2013. The Forum has been jointly held by the Chinese General Practice Press, the Monash University in Australia etc. This Forum has provided the platform for the academic exchange of China-Australia general practice, promoting the quality of general practice training and education, as well as the improvement of clinical skills in general practice.

         Attending experts include: Director Changming Li, the Department of Women and Children's Health Care & Community Health Service, Ministry of Health, P.R. China; Deputy Director Guojing Wang, the Health Department of Zhejiang Province; Director Yaping Du, Family Medicine Education and Training Center; Prof. Danielle Mazza, head of the Department of General Practice at Monash University, Australia; Prof. Jane Fisher, academic clinical and health psychologist and director of the Jean Hailes Research Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences, Monash University; Associate Professor Jan Coles, acting director of Research and Graduate Studies for the School of Primary Health Care, Monash University etc.


        The Fourth China-Australia General Practice Academic Forum - Chinese General Practice Trainer Workshop held by the Chinese General Practice Press and Monash University in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, P.R. China, March 2014. Professor Shane Thomas from MonashUniversity, and Professor Blashkifrom the University of Melbourne lead the academic exchange and interactions of general practice trainers. This event provides a platform for promoting academic exchange between China and Australia, and improving the quality of education, training and clinical skills on general practice. 






The West Lake International Conference on General Practice held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, P.R. China, October 2014. The event is hosted by the Chinese General Practice Press. Experts attending and delivering keynote lectures include: Prof. Lanjuan Li of Zhejiang University, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Prof. YixinZeng, president of the Peking Union Medical College and member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Dr. Garth Manning, Chief Executive Officer of WONCA; Liji Wang, deputy director of International Cooperation Department, National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC); Prof. Shanzhu Zhu, head of the Department of General Practice, Fudan University; Prof. Robert E Rakel, former vice president of the American Board of Family Practice; Prof. Nigel Mathers, honorary secretary of Royal College of General Practice (RCGP) and head of the Academic Unit of Primary Medical Care, University of Sheffield; Prof. Kurt C Stange, editor of Annals of Family Medicine; Prof. Martin Scherer, vice president of the German College of General Practitioners, and director of the Department of Primary Care in University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf; Prof. Roger Zoorob, chair of Baylor's Family and Community Medicine; Dr. Sandra Mather, head of International, RCGP; Prof. TesshuKusaba, deputy director-general of the Hokkaido Centre For Family Medicine in Japan etc. Over 800 guests and representatives from countries and regions all over the world have attended the Conference. The Conference is of significant importance to the discipline development and academic exchange of general practice in China, and has laid the foundation for the internationalization of Chinese general practice and community health service.


The Annual Academic Meeting of the Committee of General Practice, Cross-Straits Medicine Exchange Association held by the Chinese General Practice Press in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, P.R. China, April 2015. Experts attending and delivering keynote lectures include: Director Liji Wang, Office for Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs of National Health and Family Planning Commission of P.R. China; Deputy Director Shengguo Jin, Department of Science and Technology Education of National Health and Family Planning Commission of P.R. China; President Tongbin Zhao, Cross-Straits Medicine Exchange Association; Prof. Shanzhu Zhu, chair of the Committee of General Practice, Cross-Straits Medicine Exchange Association; Prof. Kwok Tung Li, Honorary Treasurer of WONCA and Chair of the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians; Director Meng-Chih Lee, Taiwan Society of Family Medicine etc. Over 700 guests and representatives from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the mainland of China have attended the event. Achievements made by this academic meeting and planned cooperative projects to be carried out jointly by the mainland of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan are of significant importance to the disciplinary development and academic exchange of family medicine, and have laid the foundation for the development of general practice and community health service in China.
